Obama Does the Abominable with the NDAA

an unhappy new year for america

Well, it happened. President Barack Obama said farewell to 2011 and Unhappy New Year to 2012 when he signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA. In doing so, he virtually nullified the Bill of Rights and so, by any reasonable standards, is guilty of treason and may even prove to be the greatest terrorist threat to face America.

Of course, Obama was aware of the controversy surrounding this act and didn't fail to mention that he signed it into law with "serious reservations with certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of suspected terrorists," but sign it he did. If you, like many Americans, are still in denial about what's happening in the name of the War on Terror, a "suspected terrorist" in today's America can be you or me. Anyone who questions the authority of the President is already considered a "low level terrorist," so I suppose, if he wanted to, Obama could have anyone who criticizes his decision or even votes against him arrested and indefinitely detained without charges being laid.

This may sound paranoid, but just the fact that, thanks to this law, it is now possible to do so, makes the United States now officially a Police State, or, as Ron Paul said, it is a "slip into tyranny." Of course, Ron Paul is just a quack with a quack following (like me) and has been accused of being a terrorist sympathizer himself, but what about the retired 4 Star Generals who wrote, that, if the NDAA passed, "due process would be a thing of the past"? Well, due process is now a thing of the past in the United States of America. This is President Obama's New Year gift to the United States: Unhappy New Year, USA.

The ABC blog, Political Punch, was one of the first mainstream online media outlets to cover the story and its coverage was peppered with commentary from "White House officials." Here's something one of them had to say:

“The president strongly believes that to detain American citizens in military custody infinitely without trial, would be a break with our traditions and values as a nation, and wants to make sure that any type of authorization coming from congress, complies with our Constitution, our rules of war and any applicable laws.”

How can any "authorization" to take advantage of the NDAA comply with the Constitution when the Act itself is unconstitutional? We've already seen in Guantanamo Bay, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and elsewhere what America thinks of the "rules of war and any applicable laws": when they don't serve our masters' agenda, they are ignored. Now Obama or his successor has just the legal tool they need to get rid of those pesky "occupiers" once and for all. Hey, I'm not a huge fan of the Tea Partiers, but they, too, could be history soon. Draconian measures like these may not happen overnight, but they will happen. The temptation will be too great to ignore.

I've got to hand it to the Health Ranger. He wrote a scathing article about this diabolical piece of legislature and he lives right there in the United States. In his article, RIP Bill of Rights 1789-2011, Mike Adams says:

Derived from sacred principles of natural law, the Bill of Rights has come to a sudden and catastrophic end with the President's signing of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a law that grants the U.S. military the "legal" right to conduct secret kidnappings of U.S. citizens, followed by indefinite detention, interrogation, torture and even murder. This is all conducted completely outside the protection of law, with no jury, no trial, no legal representation and not even any requirement that the government produce evidence against the accused. It is a system of outright government tyranny against the American people, and it effectively nullifies the Bill of Rights.

Hats off to you, Mike - you're a brave man. I suspect in the very near future, we won't be hearing as much free speech coming from American soil. The stakes are much higher now and whether or not Adams and others like him are arrested or just mysteriously disappear, the climate of fear is going to shut a lot of mouths.

On the other hand, maybe this will wake Americans up. Maybe they'll finally stand up together and say enough is enough. Wouldn't that be a nice change to believe in.

You will notice when it was signed and how little is being said about it. They will keep it low key until they start to implement it.

The irony is they are the same folks who will call a conservative a Nazi even though this is the closest thing i have seen to it in this nation. Pray for our nation daily is all I can say.

Well received Rob, but then again I can only speak for myself. I am confused...Aren't "we the people" the ones who vote for our leader, isn't the government supposed to work for us? What happened? Why does the majority believe the do not hold the power of change? Fear? Lack of knowledge? Maybe we should remember the time of Ben Franklin...when the government had little overhead, when and where did this get ass backwards?

Ooops, red alert I am now a threat to America for I questioned their right of passage to continually bend me over for their own needs...

You know what they say about boiling frogs: you don't throw them into boiling water or they'll jump right out; you put them into cold water and turn the heat on, then they won't notice till it's too late and they boil to death. I find myself with a little more understanding of the German populace in the 1930s.

Awesome dude,

Of course you write this article living thousands of miles away!

I for one think he is a traitor and should be impeached. However that could be said for all the Congressmen and Senators that allowed it to get this far . . .

So simple by voting against him we could be detained indefinitely, good thing I don't vote, of course that to could be construed as unpatriotic.

Perhaps we are looking at this the wrong way, what if this is what actually breaks the Camels back? Some say that 9/11 was an act of revolution a way to wake up the sheeple, perhaps this will add the momentum necessary to get people Mad as Hell . . . yeah right first the public would actually have to grow a brain!

Baa, Baa!

That would be a great name for a Hub Boiling Frogs or a Punk Rock band . . . Let's give a warm welcome to Boiling Frogs and the Sheeple . . . yeeeeaaah!

Has anyone else noticed how weird the Moon looks lately, Rob does the Moon look different in Cambodia cause it looks really weird here in Tennessee.

No, the moon looks pretty normal here, though I saw my first full eclipse a couple of weeks ago. That boiling frogs analogy is perfect and unfortunately, I think that's exactly what's happening. Wasn't it clever of Obama to sign it into law just before New Year, the one day of the year when people aren't online? What was the mainstream news coverage like in the US? I saw a piece about it on RTV, but not CNN.

Most of the media is keeping this under the blanket. It is horrible that such a law was passed. Where I live, not many Americans know this has happened. They think I am nuts because the media is not sharing that information. They believe that it is just another conspiracy theory. They are dead wrong. Just because the media is not sharing does not mean that it does not exist. I believe that more people should learn about the NDAA and how it will affect Americans. Whatever freedom we had left has now been destroyed.

and now SOPA is being pushed to become law, perhaps it is what the sheeple need to wake up and smell the corruption?

RobSchneider profile image

RobSchneider Hub Author 4 months ago

If and when SOPA becomes law, we're going to have to find ways to communicate and share. Any ideas? Any links to sites you know of? Max Keiser was talking about this yesterday on RT, but who watches RT in America? Is it even available on your TV sets or do you only have it online?

I don't watch TV it's a bunch of crap, check out my latest on JFK, you'll love it.

Do not know perhaps this will motivate us to learn telepathy . . . or remote viewing

With laws like these who needs foreign terrorists? The American government is doing a fine job of terrorizing the populace without any help from Al Qaeda. It won't be long now until we start seeing more "news" stories relating to cult organizations (otherwise known as survivalists) being infiltrated and gunned down, burned out, etc.. while we're assured we're now safe. Our government is afraid of citizens who own guns and grow their own food. They aren't so easy to control and just might rise up against the destroyers of our Constitution.

Waco proved that maintaining small groups of grass roots organizations will work better, if we are to overcome the large forces pitted against us we must take a chapter from the Veit Cong book of defeating large superior forces.

Gureilla warfare instead of large clashes, Occupy Wall Street was nothing but a set up to identify and get into the system those that would oppose the NWO.

There will be many such set ups in the guise of help and relocation, also Events such as UFO Invasions will be conducted to gather weapons from civilians.

Curfews, travel restrictions and quarantines will be used to divide and conquer the populace of large cities. Buy yourself a backpack you can carry and outfit it with basic supplies, extra everything, staying mobile will be your best bet.

Most folks have no idea what is coming and Hurricane Katrina is going to look like a picnic.

Even the investment blog, the Daily Reckoning, has been posting a series of "Get Out of Dodge" articles. I'd like to say I was sitting here from a safe distance enjoying the show, but my American roots are deeper than I thought and I really feel distressed as I watch events unfold. I also think that US foreign policy makes the whole world "Dodge" so wherever we live, we're in it together.

You better start writing it or I'll beat you to it, again. However I took your advice and am putting the finishing touches on The Moon, Earth's First Space Station, doesn't it matter that it was designed to observe us?

It'll be a doozy!

I've got something percolating right now, but I'm not going to reveal the subject matter to you. You'll steal my idea! Isn't it nice to look up at the moon and know that Big Brother is watching over us?

somethgblue profile image

It is nice to know that they have an investment in Earth's survival and will not allow the idiots on this planet to nuke us into the stone age.

I will go to sleep now and pluck your percolation from the ether, as only a true Source Field rider can, so if you feel your thoughts being invaded it isn't Big Brother, just me!
